The Misericordia University baseball team fell to Swarthmore College, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.

Sean Lyons was 2-4 and
Dalton Emerich was 1-3.

Swarthmore scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on an interference call on a steal of third base.

The Cougars threatened in the top of third when
Sean Boylan and
Joe Liscio walked and Emerich singled to load the bases with no outs.

Kyle Lennon flew out to center field and Boylan was out at home attempting to score.

The Cougars threatened again in the ninth when Lyons reached on a one-out, infield single. He stole two bases, but was stranded on third base.

Alejandro Santiago worked three shutout innings before giving way to
Isaac Snyder who allowed the game's only run in 3.2 innings to absorb the loss.

Joe Valenti worked 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in his first collegiate appearance.

MU (1-3) begins its spring break trip to Port Charlotte, Florida with a game against Otterbein University, Saturday at 3:00.
