The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team opened the season with a 19-10 win over Muhlenberg, Tuesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Kaila Quinlivan had four goals and four assists and
Justine Johnson added four goals and two assists.
Lauren Weitzel scored four goals and had five ground balls and
Amy Roth added four goals, four caused turnovers and two draw controls.
Shae O'Leary had two goals and an assist and
Katie Reilly added a goal and two assists.
Maggie McGovern made 13 saves in goal while
Meaghan Kelly had four caused turnovers and three ground balls and
Lexee Willey added four draw controls.
Quinlivan scored three times as the Cougars jumped out to an 8-3 lead with 10:27 left in the first half.
Muhlenberg answered with three goals in the final 6:39 to get within 9-6 at halftime.
Muhlenberg scored twice in the opening minute of the second half to cut MU's lead to 9-8, but the Cougars responded with seven straight goals to put the game away.
Weitzel scored twice in just over a minute and Johnson scored three times in a four-minute span to give MU a 16-8 lead with 13:24 to play.
Misericordia will host Stevenson, March 6.
