The Misericordia University men's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking 65-64 loss at Delaware Valley, Wednesday.
Noah Rivera led the Cougars with 18 points and gave MU a 64-63 lead with four seconds to play.
After an MU foul, the Aggies converted two of three foul shots to take the lead and Misericordia's potential game-winning basket at the buzzer was off the mark.
Rivera added 12 rebounds and three blocked shots and
Nate Kreitzer had 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Joe Baldachino added 10 points for the Cougars.
Trailing 42-40, the Cougars scored 10 straight points to take a 50-42 lead on
Nick Prociak's layup with 10:12 to play.
After the Aggies rallied to pull even, 57-57, Baldachino put MU back in front with a three-pointer with 3:46 to go.
Del Val scored four straight points to take a 61-60 lead, but
Tony Harding tied the game with a free throw with 2:14 remaining.
Rivera put the Cougars ahead with a foul shot with 1:33 to play and the Cougars took a 63-62 lead one minute later.
