The Misericordia baseball team lost the final game of their spring break trip to Heidelberg University, 5-3, Friday afternoon in Port Charlotte, FLO.

Austin Miles had three hits while Sean Boylan and Tyler Holzapfel had two hits and a run scored each.

Brady Madden and Mike Little added a hit and an RBI each.

The Cougars trailed 3-0 after the first inning, but strong relief pitching from Kyle Kane and Alejandro Santiago kept them in the game.

Heidelberg tacked on another run in the top of the third before MU got on the board.

Joe Liscio reached on an error and scored on a double by Santino Manganella to make the score 4-1. 

Heidelberg made it 5-1 in the top of the sixth, but the Cougars answered with two in the bottom half. 

Boylan singled to left and Holzapfel followed with a double.

With runners on second and third, Madden's ground ball to shortstop scored Boylan.

Little singled to center to plate Holzapfel the following at bat. 

The Cougars had the bases loaded with one out in the eighth, but a double play ended the inning.

MU had another opportunity in the ninth with the tying runner on base, but could not get the runs across.

The Cougars (4-8) will play Arcadia on Tuesday at 3:30.
