Seven Misericordia baseball players will have the opportunity to play in the inaugural Baseball U PA Collegiate Summer League slated to start June 23
rd.
Pitchers
Jaiden Cioffi and
Tyler Leonard will play for Team Orange; shortstop
Jason Sanfilippo and outfielder
Joe Comins play for Team White, shortstop
Austin Sienkiewicz will play for Team Vegas and pitcher/outfielder
Nick Reposa will suit up for Team Gray. Incoming freshman Alex Magdalinski is on Team Black.
The six-team league will play an 18-game season in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area culminating with an all-star game and four team play off at PNC Field, home of the Scranton RailRiders (AAA affiliate of the New York Yankees).Â

Pete Egbert and MU Baseball alum Al Reda will coach Team Steel. Â
With the cancellation of many competitive collegiate leagues throughout the nation this summer, the league formed quickly to give local players an opportunity to play competitive baseball after missing most of their college seasons. Teams are littered with much of the top talent from the area, including many Division I players and more than one dozen players from local colleges.
