The Misericordia University men's soccer team fell to 8-2 with a 2-1 overtime loss to Wilkes, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field. in Dallas. The Cougars are now 2-1 in conference play.
Jimmy Towers scored MU and
Andrew Daubenspeck made six saves.Towers gave MU the lead when his shot from the left side of the box found the top right corner of the goal at 8:38 for his second goal of the season.
Owen Henry-Cornell nearly extended MU's lead in the 11
th minute, but his header was denied.
Towers' 1-v-1 opportunity in the 80
th minute came up empty and the Colonels tied the score less than two minutes later.
Mitchell Dowling blocked a Wilkes shot with five seconds remaining in regulation.
Wilkes netted the game-winner 3:20 into the extra session.
MU will host Stevens, Saturday at 4:00.
