Fiona Pyfer rescued the Misericordia University women's volleyball team as the Cougars pulled out a 3-2 win at Delaware Valley, Wednesday.

Pyfer had a team-high 14 kills, including two in a match-clinching 4-0 run to end a 16-14 win in the fifth set.

Faith Merritt added 10 kills and 13 digs and Annika Mass had 30 assists and five aces.

Pyfer and
Shelby Hastings had four blocks each and
Alexa Monro and
Delaney Boyd had three aces apiece.

After taking the first two sets, 25-15, 25-18, the Cougars dropped the next two by identical 25-20 scores, and trailed 14-12 in the finale.

Pyfer's kill kept the Cougars alive and a Del Val error tied the score 14-14. Massa put MU ahead and Pyfer clinched the win with a kill.

In the opener, Pyfer had three kills and an ace as the Cougars scored 11 straight points to take an 11-1 lead.

Adele Decker had a kill and an ace as the Cougars took a 24-16 lead in the second set and
Jessica Oltman closed the set with a kill.

The Cougars are 13-11 overall and in third place in the MAC Freedom at 4-2.
