The Misericordia University football team dropped a hard-fought 35-0 decision to nationally-ranked Delaware Valley, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.

Eric Glass led the Cougars with nine tackles and a forced fumble while Tavion Rogers had eight tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss.

Andrew Lee had seven tackles and recovered a fumble.

The Cougars defense held the Aggies below their league-leading scoring average of 41 points and held them scoreless over the final 17 minutes.

The Aggies scored on their two possessions to take a 14-0 lead after one quarter.

Delaware Valley drove deep into MU territory early in the second period, but Matthew Carter forced an incomplete pass on third and goal and the Aggies eventually missed a 26-yard field goal.

Glass forced a fumble on the Del Val's next possession and Lee recovered at the MU 20.

Following an MU punt, the Aggies took just one play to take a 21-0 lead with 3:40 to play in the second quarter.

Down 28-0, the Cougars put together their best drive of the game early in the third period.

Starting at their own 26, Mitchell Micale's keeper up the middle gained five yards.  Micale hit Jadyn Childs on a quick out on the right side to convert a third-and-4 to the 43.

A personal foul on the Aggies moved the ball to midfield and David Cromwell went off left tackle for six yards.  Cromwell picked up four yards on the next play for a first down at the Del Val 41.

Micale connected with Colten Peischl for 10 yards to the Aggies' 31.

The drive stalled at the 28 after the Cougars had consumed 7:03 on the clock.

The teams traded punts throughout the fourth quarter.

Misericordia will host King's, Saturday.
