The Misericordia University women's basketball team's fourth-quarter rally came up short as the Cougars their first loss of the season, 63-56, at Drew in the championship game of the Rose City Classic.
Meaghan McCaffrey led the Cougars with 10 points while All-Tournament team selection
Alyssa Bondi had eight points.
Melina Santacroce had four points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals and was named to the All-Tournament team.
Drew scored four straight points to break a 12-12 tie and take a 16-12 lead after one period.
The Rangers stretched their lead to 33-20 at halftime and led 52-33 after three quarters.
MU chipped away at the lead in the closing minutes and ended the game on an 8-0.
The Cougars will host SUNY New Paltz in their home opener, Saturday.
