The Misericordia University men's basketball team dropped its second consecutive overtime decision, 94-88, Wednesday night on Doc Mould Court.
Nate Kreitzer scored all of his team-high 23 points in the second half and overtime.
Kevin Lazdowsky added 17 points and
Rodrigo Vani and
Chris Robinson both had 11 points.
Down 36-26 at halftime, the Cougars made eight three-pointers in the second half to get back in the game.
Lazdowsky made back-to-back three-pointers from the left corner to get MU within 38-34 just 2:15 into the second half.
Kreitzer drained a pull-up three from the right wing to get within 40-38 with 16:08 to go.
Derek Smith buried two straight three-pointers to give the Cougars a 46-42 lead with 14:06 to play.
The teams traded buckets the rest of the way and MU trailed 76-75 after Vani's layup with :05 remaining.
Widener made it 77-75 with a free throw and Kreitzer converted two of three free throws with 0.6 to go to forcer OT.
Kreitzer opened OT with a driving layup and drilled a deep three-pointer from the top of the key to put MU ahead, 82-81, with 3:51 to play.
Widener went ahead with a pair of free throws and was 10-10 from the line over the final 2:50.
Misericordia is 0-3 and will travel to Moravian, Friday at 7:00.
