MU Hosting FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom Field Hockey Semifinals

The Misericordia University field hockey team will host FDU-Florham in a MAC Freedom semifinal game, Wednesday at 7:00 at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars, 12-6, are seeded second after finishing tied for first in the MAC Freedom during the regular season. 

FDU-Florham, 10-7, is seeded third after finishing 5-2 in league play.

Top-seeded Stevens will host Arcadia in the other semifinal with the winners advancing to Saturday's championship game.

Misericordia defeated FDU-Florham during the regular season, 3-1, behind a pair of goals from Madison Posivak.

Misericordia is making its sixth postseason appearance in the last eight seasons.  The Cougars have reached the MAC Freedom title game three times, including championships in 2015 and 2017.

This is the fourth postseason meeting between the schools with FDU-Florham holding a 2-1 edge.

MU's Anna Effinger (9g, 6a) is eighth in the MAC Freedom in goals, eighth in assists and has a league-best four game-winning goals.

Mikayla Cavenas (6g, 8a) is fourth in the MAC Freedom in assists.

Misericordia's Olivia Gretz leads the league with eight shutouts and is second with a 1.44 goals against average.

FDU-Florham's Haleigh Flukey is fourth in the league with 13 goals and Emilee Vizzuso is ninth with eight.

The Devils Sydney Moskal leads the MAC Freedom with nine assists while Ashley Moskal is fifth with seven.

Megan March leads the MAC Freedom with a 78.1 save percentage and is fourth with a 1.70 GAA.

Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for senior citizens.  Students and children are $2.
