The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 with an impressive 23-6 win over King's, Wednesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Patrick Luzzi led the Cougars with four goals and five assists and
Carson Venis added five goals and an assist.
Robert Wagner had four goals and an assist and Michael Kilgallon added two goals and three assists.
Allen Thomas had two goals and two assists and
Kyle Vandenberg had three goals and an assist.
Luzzi put MU ahead in the opening with a tough-angle shot from the left post.
Luzzi and Wagner both scored man-up goals as the Cougars raced out to a 10-0 in the first period.
After taking a 12-4 lead into halftime, the Cougars put the game away with five goals to open the third quarter.
Kilgallon and Venis scored to make it 14-5.Â
Kyle Vandenberg scooped up his own rebound and Wagner scored twice late in the period to give the Cougars a 17-4 lead.
Misericordia held a 66-18 advantage in shots.
Nick Caprio led the Cougars with five caused turnovers while
Spencer Sundeberg added four.
Michael Shuman had a team-high eight ground balls and
Ryan Vandenberg added six.
The Cougars travel to Stevens, Saturday.
