The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season, 21-13, Wednesday night at York.

Michelle Torzilli led the Cougars with four goals and
Lauren Weitzel had three goals and two assists.

Justine Johnson contributed three goals.
Maggie McGovern had 11 saves in goal.

York opened up the scoring in the first half at the 28:29 mark, before Weitzel answered with her first goal of the evening at the 27:51 mark.

York scored a goal with 18:32 left in the first half to push their lead to 6-3, before
Molly Celesky struck back with a goal to make it 6-4 with 16:25 left in the first half.

York scored six straight goals to close the first half and take a 14-5 lead.

York extended their lead to 19-9 at the 14:44 mark of the second half, but the Cougars responded with four goals over the next 7:46, including a goal from
Emily Connell, to make it 19-13 with 6:28 left in the game.

York responded to the Cougars 4-0 scoring run with two goals of their own to win the game 21-13.
