Alyssa Grieco and Michelle Torzilli scored six goals apiece to lead the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 23-0 win at Eastern in their season opener, Saturday.

Lauren Weitzel had five goals and an assist and Justine Johnson added two goals and five assists.

Genevieve Montanye had two goals and an assist while Alyssa Delgadillo had a goal and two assists and Molly Celesky scored one goal.

Weitzel added eight draw controls, seven ground balls and five caused turnovers while Emily Connell had four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Delgadillo had five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Maggie McGovern made two saves in goal to earn the win and Lena Conway and Tori Hodges made one stop each.

Weitzel gave the Cougars the lead in the opening minute and Grieco scored three straight goals to make it 4-0 with 23:05 to play in the first half.

Weitzel and Torzilli combined for seven goals over the final 21:33 to give the Cougars a 14-0 lead at halftime.

Torzilli added three more goals in the second half.
