Michelle Torzilli scored seven goals to lead the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 17-14 win over Stevens, Sunday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Justine Johnson had two goals and four assists and Alyssa Delgadillo added two goals and an assist.

Alyssa Grieco scored twice and Emily Connell, Taylor Hannaberry, Lauren Weitzel and Genevieve Montanye all added goals.

Maggie McGovern made eight saves in goal to earn the win.

Torzilli added a team-high six draw controls.

Johnson scored both of her goals in the first three minutes as the Cougars jumped out a 4-0 lead just over five minutes into the game.

Johnson picked up a loose ball near the left post to score the game's first goal and turned and shot in front off a pass from Connell to make it 2-0 at 27:54.

After Stevens went on a 5-1 run to pull even, Grieco sandwiched her two goals around a short-handed tally to put MU in front, 8-5, with 9:13 to go in the first half.

Stevens scored three of the next four goals and Misericordia took a 9-8 advantage into halftime.

Torzilli scored three goals early in the second half as the Cougars took a 13-11 lead with 19:52 to play.

Stevens again rallied to the score, 14-14, with 10:05 to play, but the Cougars scored three straight goals over final 8:33 to secure the win.
