The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team defeated DeSales, 18-6, Wednesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Justine Johnson led the Cougars with four goals and three assists and
Michelle Torzilli scored five goals.
Alyssa Delgadillo,
Genevieve Montanye and
Taylor Hannaberry all had two goals and two assists and
Emily Connell added three goals.
Maggie McGovern made six saves in goal and Delgadillo had a team-high 10 draw controls.
DeSales opened the scoring in the opening minute, but Johnson answered with three goals in an eight-minute span to give the Cougars a 3-2 lead.
DeSales tied the score with 18:36 to play in the first half, but MU went ahead for good with six straight goals. Connell and Torzilli scored three goals each over the final 13:45 of the first half as the Cougars took a 10-5 halftime lead.
Misericordia controlled the second half and closed the game on a 6-0 run.
The Cougars will visit FDU-Florham in a battle of MAC Freedom unbeatens, Saturday.
