The Misericordia University baseball team swept a doubleheader at King's, 10-2, 11-3, Saturday.

Tom Jacob struck out four over 4.1 innings to earn the win in game one and Jared Kay worked 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.

Sean Boylan had two hits and two RBI and Derrick Vosburg added a two-run double.

Garrett McIlhenney, Austin Miles and Brady Madden all had two hits.

In the nightcap, McIlhenney was 4-for-4 with four RBI and Dante Salerno, Madden and Vosburg all added two hits.

Brendan Gray went six innings to pick up the win and Kyle Kane, Jaden Cioffi and Christian Moesler all worked a shutout inning of relief.

In game one, the Cougars took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second and added three more in the fourth.

Shane Hughes reached on a three-base error to lead off the second and came home with the game's first run on Miles' double down the right field line.  Joe Liscio singled and Madden drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.  Liscio scored on a wild pitch to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead.

In the fourth, Madden singled through the left side and moved to second on McIlhenney's bunt single.  Following a sacrifice bunt, Dante Salerno singled up the middle to make it 5-0.  Randy Mateo singled in a run for a 6-0 lead.

MU added a run in the fifth and plated three more in their final at bat. 

McIlhenney drew a two-out walk in the fifth, stole second and scored on Boylan's single to center.

Boylan's bunt single gave the Cougars an 8-3 lead and Vosburg followed with a two-run double to center.

In game two, the Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first and added a pair of runs in the third.

McIlhenney led off the game with a bunt single, stole second and eventually scored on Boylan's RBI-ground out. 

Mike Murphy drew a walk to open the third and McIlhenney homered down the right field line for a 3-0 lead.

After King's went ahead in the third, MU scored runs in the top of the fourth.  Miles, Madden and Murphy all singled to load the bases and McIlhenney drove in a pair of runs with a single to center.  Dalton Emerich and Salerno followed with sacrifice flies for a 7-4 lead.

The Cougars added a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth.

Santino Manganella led off the fifth with an infield single and later scored on Madden's single to left.

Vosburg had an RBI-single and Manganella added a sacrifice fly as part of the three-run sixth.

The MU pitching staff allowed just two baserunners over the final six innings.
