The Misericordia University baseball team extended its win streak to 10 games with a 10-1, 14-2 sweep over FDU-Florham on Senior Appreciation Day, Saturday at Tambur Field

Kyle Lennon,
Sean Boylan and
Austin Miles all had two hits and two RBI in the opener and
Tom Jacob struck out five over five innings to earn the win.

Derrick Vosburg had four hits in the nightcap and Boylan had three hits and two RBI. Lennon had two hits and three RBI and Miles had two hits and
Brady Madden blasted a grand slam.

Brendan Gray worked into the eighth inning to earn the win as the Cougars improved to 19-7 and moved into second place in the MAC Freedom.

FDU-Florham took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first of game one, but was held scoreless the rest of the way by Jacob and three relievers.

The Cougars went ahead with three runs in the second and added two more in the third.
Â
Vosburg singled to right with one out in the second and moved up when Hughes was hit by pitch. Madden doubled over the third base bag to drive in the tying run and Miles put the Cougars ahead with a two-out, two-run single up the middle.

In the third, Salerno lined a one-out single to left and moved to third on Boylan's double inside the third base bag. Hughes hit a soft liner to left on a 1-2 pitch to put MU ahead, 5-1.Â

MU made it 7-1 in the fifth and closed out the scoring with a three-run sixth.

Lennon led off the sixth with a pinch-hit infield single and advanced to second when Salerno reached on an error. Following a double steal, Boylan drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Hughes walked and Salerno came home when Hughes was caught in a rundown on an attempted steal.

Lennon added a two-run single in the sixth and Boylan added a two-out, RBI-single.

The Cougars took a 2-0 lead in the first inning of game two and added five runs in the second.

Emerich led off with a bunt single and Boylan and Vosburg followed with back-to-back RBI-doubles.

In the second inning, Emerich had an RBI-double and Lennon drove in two runs with a single to left. Boylan and Hughes drove in runs to give the Cougars a 7-0 lead.

MU plated four more runs on Madden's grand slam in the fourth and added three runs in the seventh.Â

Lennon had an RBI-triple to key the three-run seventh.

MU will conclude the regular season with a doubleheader at FDU-Florham, Sunday.
