The Misericordia University softball team will host Delaware Valley for a doubleheader to open a best-of-three series in the first round of the MAC Freedom Championships, Saturday, May 1 at noon.
 
The Cougars are the top seed after finishing the regular season at 19-4 overall and 17-3 in the league play.
 
Delaware Valley is the eighth seed after taking two-of-three from FDU-Florham in the play-in series.
 
The series winner will face the winner between King's and DeSales in next week's semifinal round.
 
Maddie Holub is eighth in the MAC in batting at .481 and Nicole Elliott is 11^th at .398.  Holub leads the league in runs scored and slugging percentage and is second in on-base percentage.
 
Elliott leads the league in doubles and is second in RBI
 
Alexa McHugh is second in the league in wins and third in strikeouts and fifth in ERA.
 
Misericordia leads the MAC Freedom in slugging percentage at .508 and is second in the league in team batting at .338.
 
Madison McClary leads the Aggies in batting at .317.  Olivia Monismith is fifth in the league with 60 strikeouts.
