The Misericordia University baseball team swept a doubleheader from Delaware Valley, 11-1, 14-1, Saturday at Tambur Field in the first round of the MAC Freedom Championships.
The Cougars extended their winning streak to 14 games while improving to 23-7 and advancing to the MAC Freedom semifinals. MU will host the winner of Sunday's game between Arcadia and Wilkes, Saturday.
Brady Madden had three hits, including a double, to pace the attack in the opener. Dante Salerno, Sean Boylan, Shane Hughes and Austin Miles all had two hits and Santino Manganella hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer.
Tom Jacob scattered four hits over 6.2 innings to earn his sixth win.
In game two, Manganella had three hits, including a double and a triple, and scored three runs and had three RBI.
Salerno and Boylan had two hits and two RBI and Miles and Joe Liscio both had two hits.
Brendan Gray struck out five over eight innings to notch his sixth win.
