Misericordia University baseball standout Sean Boylan has been named to the 2021 Academic All-America® Division III baseball team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
 
A senior history/secondary education major, Boylan was a first-team selection.

He led the Cougars to their 10^th consecutive MAC Freedom championship while leading the team in every major offensive category.

Boylan led MU in batting (.444), hits (59), runs (46), total bases (93), homers (7), slugging % (.699), on-base % (.524) and set a school record with 55 RBI.

He was named first-team All-MAC Freedom, first-team d3baseball.com All-Region and third-team d3baseball.com All-American.

A shortstop, Boylan was also named Misericordia Wendy's Athlete of the Year.
 
Six of the 34 members of the 2021 Academic All-America® Division III baseball teams have a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.82 and the 34 student-athletes that make up all three teams have an average cumulative GPA of 3.81.
