The Misericordia women's volleyball team captured its first and second victories of the season with a sweep of John Jay and Wells College, Saturday afternoon on Doc Mould Court.
The Cougars took down John Jay 25-12, 25-20, 25-26.Â
Faith Merritt had a game high 13 kills.
Shelby Hastings had four blocks, two coming on back-to-back plays at the end of the third set. Â
Annika Massa finished with five service aces and 21 assists.
Allison Swartz and
Fiona Pyfer finished with six digs each and Pyfer recorded four kills.Â
Misericordia defeated Wells 25-16, 25-17, 25-22.Â
Merritt once again led the team with 12 kills and six aces. Â
Alexa Monro delivered three aces and Massa had 30 assists and eight digs.Â
Jessica Cleveland finished with seven digs and an assist. Â
The Cougars return to MAC Freedom action when they host Stevens, Tuesday at 7:00. Â
