The Misericordia University women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-0 decision to Stevens, Tuesday night on Doc Mould Court.

The Cougars rallied from a 9-2 deficit in the first set to get within 21-20, but eventually fell, 25-21, 25-14, 25-11.

Fiona Pyfer had six kills and eight digs and
Faith Merritt added six kills and seven digs.

Annika Massa had 18 assists and
Lena Eldrenkamp had three kills and two blocks.

Down 8-2 in the first set, the Cougars came out of a timeout and scored five of the next six points.

Merritt had a smash inside the back line and
Sadie Stockslager and Eldrenkamp combined for a block to make it 10-5.

Eldrenkamp and Stockslager followed with back-to-back kills to get within 10-7.

Following an MU service error, Pyfer capped the longest rally of the night with a kill to make it 10-8.

Merritt hit through two blockers and
Delaney Boyd followed with an assist to pull the Cougars even, 13-13.

Stevens scored four straight points, but MU answered with three consecutive points on a kill by Merritt and two Stevens' errors.

Trailing 21-17, the Cougars used two errors and an ace from Massa to get within 21-20.

The Ducks closed the set with a 4-1 run.

Misericordia scored three straight points to take a 3-1 lead in the second set, but Stevens eventually used a 9-2 run to take a 17-9 lead.

Misericordia will visit Drew, Thursday.
