The Misericordia University women's volleyball team picked up its first MAC Freedom win with a 3-0 sweep over Lycoming, Wednesday night on Doc Mould Court.

The Cougars 25-21, 26-24, 25-13Â to improve to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in the MAC Freedom.

Faith Merritt led the Cougars with 15 kills while
Katie Kraeker and
Sophie Winter had six kills each.

Annika Massa had 37 assists and
Alexa Monro had seven aces.

Jessica Cleveland had 12 digs each.

Misericordia found momentum in the first set after a huge
Fiona Pyfer and
Lena Eldrenkamp block put MU ahead, 12-11. Â
In the second set,
Alexa Monro found a rhythm behind the service line, sparking a Cougar run with two aces and a dig to put the Cougars up, 8-5.

Jessica Oltman added a monster block later in the set to give Misericordia a 13-12 lead.
Faith Merritt put the set away with a kill for Misericordia's 26
th point.Â

Monro sparked another run early in the third set with back-to-back aces and finished the night with five total. Â
Misericordia will host a tri-match, with Keystone and Farmingdale, Saturday.
