The Misericordia University men's soccer team improved to 2-0 with a 1-0 win over Ramapo, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Eric Goldberg scored the only goal of the game on a rebound of a penalty kick midway through the first half.
Andrew Daubenspeck made his only save of the game with a deflection over the crossbar with 30 seconds remaining.
Goldberg's PK was saved, but he buried the rebound inside the left post.
The Cougars had three opportunities to add an insurance late in the match, but came away empty.
Richard Billings got behind the Ramapo defense and rolled a shot from the right wing that beat the keeper, but a Roadrunners defender was able to clear the shot in the 78
th minute.
Jimmy Towers chipped a shot over the keeper in the 81
st minute, but it rolled just wide left.
Max Gariano's shot from the right side of the box was deflected just wide of the left post in the 82
nd minute.
Ramapo had its best chance of the game with a shot near the upper left corner from 25 yards out in the final minute, but Daubenspeck made a leaping save to preserve the win.
Misericordia will host Stockton, Tuesday at 5:00.
