DeSales scored the game-winning basket with 1.4 seconds to play in an 84-82 victory over Misericordia University, Saturday afternoon on Doc Mould Court.

Kevin Lazdowsky had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead six Cougars in double figures.  Nick Hornung had 14 points and Elijah Rosenthal added 13.  Derek Smith scored 11 and Nate Kreitzer and Joe Baldachino had 10 points each.

The Cougars led by as many as nine points in the first half and were up 57-51 with 10:45 to play after a deep three-pointer from the left wing by Smith.

DeSales went on a 13-0 run over the next two minutes take 64-57 lead and set up a furious finish.

Hornung converted a three-point play to get the Cougars within 78-76 with 3:02 remaining and he had three consecutive putback baskets over the final two minutes to tie game, 82-82, with :25 to go.

Down 8-4 early, the Cougars used a 10-3 run to take a 14-11 lead.  Rosenthal hit a three-pointer from the top of the key and Smith drained one from the left wing off a nice pass from Hornung.

Kreitzer put MU in front with a short turnaround jumper and Marchetti drained a jumper from the right baseline on an inbounds play.

Lazdowsky drilled a three-pointer from the left wing for a 21-18 lead with 8:56 to go in the first half and the Cougars held the lead until late in the second half.
