Elijah Rosenthal led four players in double figures and
Derek Smith and
Nate Kreitzer both had double-doubles as the Misericordia University men's basketball team picked up a 77-67 win at Stevens, Saturday.

Rosenthal scored 23 points while Smith had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Kreitzer had 13 points and 10 assists.Â
Nick Hornung added 10 points for the Cougars.

Misericordia shot 10-21 from three-point range and was 17-19 from the free throw line.

Leading 68-65 with 2:24 to play, the Cougars closed the game on a 9-2 run.

Kreitzer started the run with a three-pointer and Rosenthal followed with a lay-up for a 73-65 with 1:15 to go.

Joe Baldachino and Rosenthal both added a pair of free throws in the final minute to clinch the win.

Rosenthal and Hornung made back-to-back baskets in the final minute of the first half to put MU ahead for good, 33-30.

The Cougars stretched their lead to on a jumper by Kreitzer and two free throws by Rosenthal four minutes into the second half.

Stevens eventually got within two, but
Rodrigo Vani converted a pair of free throws and Smith added a three-point play for a 64-57 lead with 5:02 to play.

The Cougars will travel to FDU-Florham, Saturday.
