MU Men's Soccer Uses Big Second Half to Clinch Two Seed

The Misericordia University men's soccer team clinched the number two seed in the MAC Freedom Championships with a 3-0 win at Delaware Valley, Saturday afternoon.

Max Gariano broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the opening minute of the second half and Luke Ferrarese and Justin Kramer added goals.

Andrew Daubenspeck made two saves to earn the shutout.

MU dominated play throughout the match while compiling a significant 26-4 advantage in shots.

The Cougars were unable to capitalize in the first half despite taking 13 shots including two off the frame in the final five minutes.

Gariano gave the Cougars the lead just 19 seconds into the second half with an assist from Anthony Yarabinee.

Luke Ferrarese scored unassisted just six minutes later and Justin Kramer added an insurance goal with an assist from Alexei King with six minutes remaining.

Misericordia, 11-3-4, will host Lycoming in the MAC Freedom semifinals, Thursday at 7:00.
