The Misericordia University field hockey team will open the 2022 MAC Freedom Championships at FDU-Florham, Monday, October 31 at 7:00.
The winner between the fifth-seeded Cougars and fourth-seeded Devils will advance to Wednesday's semifinal at top-seeded DeSales.
This is the sixth postseason meeting in the last eight seasons between MU and FDU-Florham. The Cougars won in last year's MAC Freedom semifinals while the Devils won in the ECAC semis a week later.
FDU-Florham won the regular season meeting, 3-2 in overtime, earlier this month.
Lily Metress (7g, 5a) is MU's leading scorer with 19 points while
Shannon Murphy (5g, 2a) adds 12 points. Metress is seventh in the MAC Freedom in points and eighth with .438 goals per game.
Tatyanna Lainez (4g, 3a) has 10 points and Megan Radnoff (3g, 4a) and
Morgan Walsh (3g, 3a) add 10 and nine points, respectively.
Lainez had a goal and an assist at FDU-Florham during the regular season meeting and Radnoff added a goal.
MU's Sarah Bogina leads the MAC with a 79.5 save percentage and is second with a 1.62 goals against average.
Haleigh Flukey (9g, 4a) leads FDU-Florham with 22 points and is the program's all-time leader with 57 career goals.
Dominique Rodriguez (6g, 2a) adds 14 points.
Emily Prachthauser has a 75.0 save percentage and a 1.70 GAA. Â
Admission to the game is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens, $2 for students and children, and free for children under six with an adult.  Â
