The Misericordia University women's basketball team improved to 3-0 with a 70-36 win over Keystone, Tuesday night on Doc Mould Court.
Alyssa Bondi led the Cougars with 22 points while
Melina Santacroce and
Gianna Delfino both had double-doubles.
Santacroce had 10 points, 21 rebounds and nine steals while Delfino had 12 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
The Cougars used a 15-0 run to build a 17-3 first quarter lead and never looked back.
Back-to-back slashing layups by Bondi made it 9-3 midway through the period and Santacroce added two buckets along with a layup from
Jordan Postiglione.
Keystone pulled with 20-14 late in the second period, but the Cougars closed on a 10-5 run to take a 30-19 halftime lead.
Steals by Delfino and
Skylar Dowling led to two straight baskets by Dowling for a 26-14 lead while Postiglione and Delfino both had putbacks in the closing minutes.
Bondi hit a three-pointer from in front of the MU bench to start a personal run of four straight baskets to put MU up, 41-26.
Bondi added three more baskets in the final two minutes of the period as the Cougars took a 54-26 into the fourth quarter.
Misericordia will face Cabrini in the opening round of the Susquehanna Tournament, Saturday.
