Joseph Baldachino had 23 points to lead four players in double figures as the Misericordia University men's basketball team downed Immaculata, 76-68, Monday night on Doc Mould Court.
Nick Prociak had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds and
Kevin Lazdowsky had 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
Nate Kreitzer added 10 points for the Cougars, who improved to 3-2.
Baldachino broke a 53-53 tie and put MU in front for good with a jumper with 9:55 to play. The shot ignited an 11-0 run and was followed by a layup by Lazdowsky and a three-pointer from R.J. Weise.
Baldachino and Lazdowsky both added jumpers in the lane and the Cougars led 64-53 with 5:51 to go.
Baldachino was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line and Prociak was 10-14 as the Cougars shot 78.4 % from the line.
The Cougars trailed for much of the first half until Baldachino hit a three-pointer to even the score, 18-18, with 7:19 to play in the first half.
MU took its first lead, 25-23, on a free throw from Kreitzer with 5:20 to go in the first half.
Misericordia led 36-32 at halftime thanks to a layup from Prociak with less than 10 seconds to play.
Baldachino drilled a three-pointer to give the Cougars a 42-35 lead just over a minute into the second half, but the Mighty Macs charged back and eventually built a 47-46 lead with 13:44 remaining.
Misericordia will open MAC Freedom play when they host King's, Sunday.
