The Misericordia University men's basketball team dropped a tough 82-75 decision, Saturday afternoon at Stevens.
Kevin Lazdowsky scored a team-high 20 points and
Joseph Baldachino and
Nick Prociak added 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Stevens closed the game on a 9-2 run over the final 2:17.
Tied 73-73, the Ducks scored seven straight points and added two free throws in the closing seconds.
Misericordia had rallied from a six-point deficit to take a 65-60 lead with 8:50 to play.
Down 49-43 with 15:15 remaining, Lazdowsky assisted on a
Nick Hornung layup and then scored five straight points to put MU in front. He hit a three-pointer and followed with a jumper in the lane to give MU a 50-49 lead with 13:32 to go.
The teams traded baskets before Lazdowsky sandwiched a pair of buckets around Prociak's three-pointer to put the Cougars up, 65-60.
Stevens scored eight straight points and eventually took a 73-68 lead with 4:08 left.
Baldachino hit a three-pointer and Prociak added a layup to tie the score before Stevens' game-ending spurt.
Misericordia is 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the MAC Freedom.
The Cougars will host Moravian, Wednesday.
