Jake Bartholomew,
Ben Melville and
Ryan Coyle made the most of Senior Appreciation Day as the led the Misericordia University men's basketball team to an 89-75 win over FDU-Florham in the regular season finale, Saturday on Doc Mould Court.
Bartholomew tied a career-high with 20 points and Melville scored a career-high 12 points and added six rebounds.
Coyle had four points and a career-high four assists.
Nick Prociak had 12 points for the Cougars and
Elijah Rosenthal and
Kevin Lazdowsky added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Misericordia shot 59.4% from the floor in the first half, including 64.7% (11-17) from three-point range.
The Cougars used a 17-2 run to erase a six-point deficit and take a 22-11 lead with 12:34 to go in the first half.
Bartholomew converted a three-point play and hit two three-pointers during the spurt.
After a Devils bucket, Bartholomew made two more three-pointers and Lazdowsky added one for a 31-16 lead with 11:03 remaining.
Rosenthal connected twice from deep and Melville and
Nick Hornung both hit three-pointers as the Cougars stretched the lead to 47-28 with 4:16 left in the first half.
The Devils never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.
Misericordia will visit Arcadia in a MAC Freedom quarterfinal, Wednesday.
