Box Score 2 The Misericordia men's volleyball team split their tri-match with Alvernia and New Jersey City University, Saturday. MU fell to Alvernia in three sets and took down NJCU in four.
After falling to Alvernia in the opener, the Cougars debuted their new uniforms against NJCU.
Billy Murphy led the Cougars with 11 kills and two aces in the day's first match.
Dylan Sellitti recorded 27 assists and six digs.
Kyle Ganoe had six kills, six digs, and an ace.
MU fell to Alvernia 25-22, 25-20, 25-21.
The Cougars flipped the switch for the second match, with a team hitting a percentage of .384 and tied their season-high with 53 kills.
Anthony DePalma tied his career-high with 19 kills and added three aces.
Billy Murphy finished with 15 kills and six digs.
Austin Cervasio and
Kyle Ganoe both recorded three blocks. Dylan finished with 44 assists.
The Cougars opened the first set hot and never looked back. MU ended set #1 on a 9-3 run. A service aces from Cervasio put the match away.
Cervasio started the second set with an ace.
Tied 9-9, DePalma delivered back-to-back aces and the Cougars held the lead for the rest of the set.
In the fourth set, MU rode an 8-1 run behind
Zane Martin and Selitti's serving to take a 12-4 lead.
Murphy made two kills late in the set to seal the game.
Misericordia will play a tri-match with Widener at Wilkes, Saturday.
