The Misericordia University men's basketball team's second-half rally came up short in a 90-75 loss at Arcadia, Saturday.
Nick Hornung had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead four Cougars in double figures.Â
Elijah Rosenthal had 17 points and
Kevin Lazdowsky and
Nick Prociak added 10 points each.
MU cut a 13-point halftime deficit to seven with 4:32 to play after a 17-7 run, but never got any closer.
After falling behind 4-0 to open the game, the Cougars went on a 12-3 run over the next three minutes to take a 15-7 lead.
Hornung scored seven points during the spurt while
Nate Kreitzer and
Derek Smith both made three-pointers.
Arcadia rallied and used an 18-4 run to take a 38-24 lead with 6:01 left in the first half.
Down 72-55, the Cougars made five three-pointers over the next five minutes to get within 79-72 with 4:32 remaining in the game.
Arcadia answered with six straight points to put the game out of reach.
