The Misericordia University baseball team ended its spring trip with a tough 3-2 loss to Wittenberg, Friday in Port Charlotte, FL.
Garrett McIlhenney led the Cougars with two hits and a run scored while
Santino Manganella had an RBI.
MU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when McIlhenney opened the game with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Manganella.
Wittenberg scored twice in the bottom of the second and the score held until Misericordia tied it in the top of the ninth.
Joe Comins reached via hit by pitch with one out and pinch-runner
Jack Regenye moved up on a ground out and scored the tying run on a single by
Josh Burger.
Wittenberg won the game with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth.
Tyler Leonard scattered eight hits and struck out six over seven innings, but didn't factor in the decision.
