The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team rallied for a 9-8 win at Widener, Saturday.
Genevieve Montanye had three goals and an assist, including the game-winner late in the fourth quarter.
Alyssa Delgadillo had a goal and two assists and Savanna Winpigler and
Michelle Torzilli scored two goals each.
Rachel Shook had a goal and five draw controls and
Makenzie Tumini had five draws and two ground balls.
The Cougars trailed 8-5 late in the third period, but scored the last four goals of the game.
Winpigler scored unassisted with 1:47 left in the third quarter and Torzilli got the deficit to one early in the fourth quarter.
Shook tied it with an unassisted goal with 7:48 to play and Montanye scored with an assist from Delgadillo with 2:51 remaining.
Montanye and Winpigler scored in a four-minute span to give MU a 2-0 lead midway through the first period.
After Widener tied it, Torzilli and Delgadillo both scored in the final minute of the period to give MU a 4-2 lead.
Widener scored five straight goals to take a 7-4 lead early in the third period.
MU will host Lycoming in its MAC Freedom opener, Wednesday at 4:00.
