The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team dropped an 11-4 decision to Montclair, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Michelle Torzilli scored twice for the Cougars and
Genevieve Montanye had a goal and an assist.Â
Alyssa Delgadillo added a goal and four draw controls.
Torzilli had three draw controls and
Keira Andrews had three caused turnovers and two ground balls and
Makenzie Tumini had four ground balls.
Maggie McGovern made 15 saves.
After Delgadillo won the opening draw, Torzilli gave the Cougars a quick lead with a low shot inside the left post just 14 seconds into the game.
Montclair tied it three minutes later and Torzilli put MU back in front when she cut to the middle of the lane and took a pass from
Justine Johnson and scored in the upper left corner with 4:50 left in the first quarter.
The Red Hawks scored four straight goals before Delgadillo scored in the upper right corner on a free position shot to get within 5-3 with 7:39 to play in the second quarter.
Down 10-3, Montanye scored a free position goal into an empty net with 9:34 remaining.
The Cougars will visit Stockton, Tuesday.
