Eight different players scored goals to lead the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 16-5 win at Wilkes, Wednesday night.
Michelle Torzilli and
Alyssa Grieco scored three goals each and
Alyssa Delgadillo had two goals and an assist.
Molly Celesky,
Rachel Shook and
Genevieve Montanye scored two goals each and
Kylee Cush had a goal and two assists.
Carly Rigby added a goal.
Makenzie Tumini had a team-high seven draw controls and Torzilli and Shook had four each.
Delgadillo led MU with four caused turnovers and Shook and
Samantha Mahoney had four ground balls apiece.
Maggie McGovern made six saves in goal.
Torzilli scored the game's first three goals to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead with 8:50 left in the first quarter.
Grieco and Rigby added goals later in the period and the Cougars led 5-2 after one quarter.
The Cougars added three goals in the second quarter to take an 8-3 halftime lead.
Celesky and Delgadillo both scored twice in the third quarter as MU stretched its lead to 14-4.
Misericordia is 8-5 overall and 4-1 in the MAC Freedom.
