The Misericordia University women's volleyball team had its eight-match win streak snapped with a 3-0 loss at Scranton, Tuesday.
The Cougars fell 26-24, 25-18, 25-21 and are 12-4 overall.
Fiona Pyfer had a team-high nine kills and
Meghan Peters added eight.
Jenna Schuda had 18 assists and two blocks and
Annika Massa had four aces.
Jessica Cleveland had 15 digs and three aces.
Trailing 19-14 in the opener, the Cougars scored five straight points to pull even. Pyfer had two kills and an ace and Peters ended the spurt with a kill to tie the score.
Two kills by Peters and an ace from
Delaney Boyd gave MU a 24-22 lead, but Scranton scored four straight points to win, 26-24.
The Royals used a 6-0 in the middle of the second set to pull away.
MU led throughout much of the third set and a kill by
Shelby Hastings and an ace from Schuda tied the score, 21-21, but Scranton scored four straight points to clinch the win.
