Alyssa Bondi scored a season-high 26 points to lead the Misericordia University women's basketball team to a 57-52 win over #17 Stevens, Saturday afternoon on Dr. Michael Mould Court.

Meaghan McCaffery added nine points and 13 rebounds for the Cougars.

Down 28-22 at halftime, the Cougars held Stevens scoreless for more than nine minutes in the third quarter.

Bondi hit a three-pointer from the left corner and made two free throws to get MU within a point. Bondi's driving lay up gave the Cougars a 29-28 lead and
Morgan Haefele stretched the lead to four with a three-pointer from the right wing.

Bondi added a deep three-pointer from the left wing to beat the shot clock and extend the lead to 35-28 with 1:51 left in the third quarter.

Stevens scored its first basket of the period with less than a minute to go and the Cougars led 35-20 heading to the fourth quarter.

Skylar Dowling's cross-court pass found Haefele for a three-pointer from the left wing and
Gianna Delfino made a short jumper to beat the shot clock to give MU a 41-30 lead with 8:32 to play.

Stevens got within 47-43 with 1:27 to go, but Bondi responded with a give-and-go lay up off an inbounds play and added four straight free throws to the Cougars up, 53-45 with :33 remaining.

The Cougars improved to 13-5 overall and 6-3 in the MAC Freedom and will travel to Arcadia, Saturday.
