The Misericordia University men's basketball team dropped an 85-80 decision to SUNY-Cobleskill in non-conference action, Monday night at the Anderson Center.
Derek Smith led the Cougars with 14 points.Â
Nick Hornung added 12 points and
Joseph Baldachino had 10.
The Cougars opened a 13-point lead in the first five minutes of the game and led throughout the first half.
Hornung opened the game with a three-pointer from the top of the key and Smith nailed back-to-back three-pointers to give the Cougars an 18-5 lead with 15:07 to play in the first half.
Will Anozie scored five straight points to give MU its largest lead of the night, 27-12, midway through the first half.
Cobleskill cut the margin to five, but Kreitzer scored on a driving layup to beat the halftime buzzer to give the Cougars a 39-32 lead at the break.
The Fighting Tigers took their first lead six minutes into the second half and the teams traded the lead throughout most of the second half.
