The Misericordia University men's basketball team dropped its first game of 2023 to Arcadia, 78-61, Wednesday night at the Anderson Center.

Derek Smith led the Cougars with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Dewin Concepcion and Kevin Lazdowsky added nine points each.

Concepcion's three-pointer gave Misericordia a 24-13 lead with 8:02 left in the first half, but the Knights went on a 14-0 run to take 27-24 lead.

Smith made a three-pointer from the left wing to get MU within 43-42 with 14:53 to in the second half, but a six-minute dry spell put the Cougars in a 56-42 hole with 9:29 to play.

Misericordia will host Delaware Valley, Saturday at 3:00.
