The Misericordia University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Scranton in a non-conference match, Wednesday night at the Anderson Center.

Scranton won 25-21, 25-19, 25-17.

Cassandra Genduso led the Cougars with 10 kills and three aces and
Fiona Pyfer had nine kills.

Down 20-15 scored four straight points to get within 20-19 in the opener.Â
Meghan Peters had an ace and Schuda and Pyfer both had kills, but Scranton scored five of the last seven runs to win.

Genduso had back-to-back aces to help the Cougars take a 7-4 lead in the second set.

Scranton rallied to take a 22-15 lead and had to hold off another late MU charge. Pyfer and Genduso had kills and two Scranton errors got MU within 22-19. Scranton answered with three straight points to win the set.

Pyfer had three kills to give the Cougars an early 8-5 lead in the finale, but Scranton used an 11-1 run to take a 19-11 lead.
