The Misericordia University men's basketball team improved to 4-0 with an 82-76 win at New Jersey City University, Saturday.
Kevin Lazdowsky led MU with 25 points and
Nate Kreitzer added 20.Â
Derek Smith had 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
In a back-and-forth first half, Kreitzer made a jumper in the lane to break a 33-33 tie and put MU ahead for good with 4:28 left in the first half.
Kreitzer sank another jumper in the lane and
Matt Prociak added a layup to give MU a 46-38 lead with less than 20 seconds to play.
Smith and Lazdowsky made back-to-back jumpers to give MU a 58-44 lead less than four minutes into the second half.
NJCU pulled within 74-72 with less than two minutes remaining, but Kreitzer made a layup and five free throws in the final 30 seconds to clinch the win.
