Nick Hornung had a double-double to lead four players in double figures as the Misericordia University men's basketball team improved to 5-0 with an 85-70 win at SUNY-Delhi, Wednesday night.
Hornung had 17 points and 15 rebounds and
Derek Smith added 16 points while
Joseph Baldachino and
Dewin Concepcion scored 11 points each.
R.J. Weise and Smith hit back-to-back three-pointers to break a 25-25 tie and put the Cougars in front for good with 7:53 to play in the first half.
The Cougars led 42-33 at halftime and maintained a double digit lead throughout most of the second half.
Hornung scored eight straight points, including a pair of three-pointers, to give Misericordia a 56-40 lead with 16:02 to play and the Broncos never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.
