The Misericordia University men's basketball team renewed its rivalry with Cabrini for one last time in a 96-56 win, Wednesday night on Doc Mould Court.
Joseph Baldachino had 17 points to lead five Cougars in double figures as MU won the first meeting with the Cavs since their days in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference in 2008.
Kevin Lazdowsky scored 13 points and
Nick Hornung added 11 while
Derek Smith and
Dewin Concepcion scored 10 points each.
The Cougars shot 66.7% (22-33) from the floor in the first half as they opened a 54-32 halftime lead.
The teams traded baskets over the first eight minutes before MU rattled off 13 straight points.Â
Smith scored five straight points and R.J. Weise made a pair of free throws to give MU a 21-15 lead midway through the first half.
Baldachino drained a three-pointer and Lazdowsky added a layup to make it 27-15.
Eli Stoute made a free throw to cap the run and give MU a 28-15 lead with 8:45 remaining.
Following a Cabrini bucket, MU answered with eight straight points.
