The Misericordia University baseball team dropped both ends a doubleheader in their season opener, Saturday at Shenandoah.
The Cougars lost the opener, 6-2, and fell 11-5 in the nightcap.
Joe Comins had three hits, including a double, in the opener and
Garrett McIlhenney and
Brock Bollinger had two hits each.
McIlhenney had two hits and scored two runs in the nightcap and
Josh Burger added two hits, including a double.
Down 3-0 through four innings in the opener, the Cougars got a pair of runs back on four straight hits in the top of the fifth.
With one out, McIlhenney singled and moved up on Bollinger's single and
Derrick Vosburg and
Brady Madden followed with RBI-singles.
The Cougars had 10 hits, but left 10 runners on base in the opener.
