Joe Valenti tossed a five-hit shutout and
Jason Sanfilippo drove in two runs to lift the Misericordia University baseball team to a 2-0 win over SUNY-Brockport, Sunday afternoon in Union, NJ.

Valenti faced just two batters over the minimum as the Cougars turned two double plays and picked a runner off second.

Misericordia scored the only two runs of the game in the bottom of the second inning.

Brock Bollinger drew a lead-off walk and
Connor Maryniak was hit by a pitch one out later. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch and came home on Sanfilippo's single up the middle.

Misericordia will return to Union, NJ to face Kean, Wednesday afternoon.
