Bevan Ties School Record in Men's Lax Season-Opening Win

Connor Bevan tied the school record with nine goals in his collegiate debut as the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team defeated Sage College, 22-5, in their season opener, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
 
Bevan tied the mark set by Carson Venis less than a year ago to give head coach Andrew Hauk a win in his Misericordia debut.
 
 Ryan Vandenberg had four goals and three assists and Kyle Vandenberg added three goals and two assists.
 
Robert Wagner had two goals and three assists and Jared Pelliccione added two goals and an assist.
 
Ryan Ott had seven groundballs and Ciaran Keenan added six.
 
Sean Wallace made eight saves in 53:00 to earn the win in goal.
 
Bevan scored just five seconds into the game and added his second goals just three minutes later.
 
After a Sage goal, the Cougars scored 10 straight to take a 13-1 halftime lead.
